"Whereas there exists a curious, irrational configuration of
intersecting roads and byways in the town of Mecklenburg, New York;
whereas this intersection of roads and byways is referred to by local
residents as the "Mectapus;" whereas, the aesthetic appeal and/or
philosophy of an Ithaca musical ensemble conforms to some haphazard
and curious intersection of musical styles and genres; therefore be it
resolved, hereafter this musical ensemble shall be, in perpetuity,
referred to only as 'Mectapus' . . ."
